I know it has been addressed before; I still would like to see a full frame board.

I have never thought much of splitting the forum but that.would make sense now that the A33/A55 have brought more people into the forum.

They want to have one boring forum where nobody post anything and probably dies within months of conception and one active forum with lots of posts by APS-C camera users.

Personally I don't see the neccessity of splitting the forum. If there was high traffic on it, yes but now not. If you don't want to read about other cameras just skip it, just like a A700-user would skip the post about an A33.

but it is making for a longer day, searching out the threads that actually pertain to my cameras.

I see the logic but I could live with A700 and above. The A500 and below owners seem to get too sensitive when discussing features needed that those cameras do not have.

One nice thing about splitting FF apart is when talking about lenses.

Sorry, I don't agree with you in respect to splitting the forum for the full frame users. The A850 and A900 cameras are basically big brothers of the A700 cameras. Very close in ergonomics. And their main difference is the full-frame and their bigger optical viewfinder due to this.

If is going to be split it should be to take the A33 and A55 cameras with their Electronic Viewfinders out. Like they did with the NEX series of cameras, since they are basically a new series of cameras also, and what Sony is hoping is going to be their future.

I just hope Sony don't abadom all the traditionals like me that preffer a good quality Optical Viewfinder and start making all their cameras with tiny whinny TV's and claim that those are their viewfinders.

I ignore all SLT threads unless they contain photographs. I have a700 and a850 and have no intentions of getting an a55/33 because of video (I use professional video camera for video). While canon and nikon benefit of split boards, I don't see why people wouldn't benefit from a split here. For example, I never go to a NEX forum since it has little interest to me, why should I sit and filter all the SLT threads with questions I've read years ago? (like, which 50mm lens or which cheap lens should I buy for weddings... etc).

now thats funny

Make a separate forum for all the people who want to discuss other forum members and put all the people who are interested in discussing photography on another.

I have changed my mind, I now agree!

Would prefer to have the A7xx on board as well, but by the looks and sounds of the Katsumoto Cybershot guy, that´s not going to happen anymore; so much for his promises. Unless of course there was an error in the translation.

I´m not sure DPR will grant the request though, seeing the volume of posts in the segment. Maybe the split could bring some more posts and some members back, but that´s very hypothetic.

How about just moving the A100/700/850/900 to the old Konica Minolta SLR Talk Forum. There isn't much traffic there anyway and those who want to move on could do so here. - TF
