Sony ASP-C camera future

As I can't afford to marry a new set of lenses ... I'll have to wait for a new dateable E-mount body. In the meantime, do you know anything about the Canon EF 40mm/2.8 STM? Seems as though it would be cheaper than any of the mainstream brand native 40mms, even if I have to buy a metabones adapter. This isn't a lens I am considering for BIF, sport, or speeding grandsons, so AF speed isn't all that much of an issue.

Been using that lens when I had a Canon R and also with Metabones on Sony. Excellent lens for the prize and size. AF was good on Sony.

I'm not familiar with that EF lens but looks like you got your answer from Niek.

I'm good with lenses as well. Just looking for that APS-C flagship either this year or next.

My comments

It seems to me that Sony doesn't need to do too much to make the A6600 even better. Just make it 2023 ready i.e. 1/8000 sec. shutter speed, mechanical and electronic shutter of at least 15 fps and +30MP.

I believe there is a law that prohibits dpreview from closing for as long as the question regarding the future of Sony APS-C hasn't been resolved. It is really sad news.
