45mm + ext. tubes 16+21+10+16+10mm + Raynox 250. Snowflakes on a glassplate, ledlight under the plate, diffused.

I have a cold garage, so subjects do not melt at once. With a remote release I can breath.

There was an article on photographing snowflakes in one of the first issues of the RRS magazine. The only article I can find is much more recent:

 
Wonderful and magical shots. Curious to know how much time you had to work with before the flake melted or deformed?
