SmugMug?

People always say that, but as a bachelor I don't get it. Do you really have to get the wife's permission for 27 cents/day? I understand money becomes more of an issue because of college funds and stuff, but this is like having a steak dinner at a fancy restaurant once a year, does it really break the bank?

Just have to talk it over with the wife first. lol

Or marry someone with their own money? I know my mom and dad just buy whatever the heck they want without asking each other for permission, and that includes cars.

If you don't mind, I'd be curious to know how you implemented your paypal system in your gallery. I've been considering looking into something along those lines....
Besides the interface issue (a subjective opinion) I liked smugmug.

Also, do remember that a pbase account is $23 per year while a
comparable pro smugmug account is significantly more ($90+ if I
remember correctly)

I have successfully added payment systems to in pbase, so I am
satisfied for now.

Feel free to take a look at http://www.arjunphotography.com (which is a
pbase account)

Has anyone used SmugMug? If so how is it? Are there any alternatives?

Thanks in advance,

As long as the bills get paid and split evenly, keep the extra cash separate. That way you know who's is who's. If i want something and i have the money I buy it and vice-versa. We used to do the whole joint account thing but soon realized that wasn't going to work. And with today's technology of online banking and bill pay, it's soooo easy!

I'm just getting started with a site called pixenter.com. A friend of mine put it together and I've been helping him with R&D.

Have a look at my galleries at http://pix.offyonder.com

This is just version 1, and we have stacks of ideas to improve the service, but we're always open to suggestions.

Thanks!

I haven't tried SmugMug but I have used Cachelan albums and the are great. I use them for both business and family pictures. The album settings are very customizable and you can create really clean, classy albums. Here is an example of one of my family trips that I went on recently as well as a eBrochure of a product which one of my buddies is selling.

it is true.

I am not knocking smugmug, because i use them, and think there are one of the best, but i would not send full size images, or large, becuase an experienced computer user
can get the large files from your site.

Some pics are more important to protect than others.
Events is not a problem, but i am referring to fine art
or highly important images.
I advise not to upload large files, but resize them 640x480
that should be large enough to view for someone.

But all in all, i would recommend smugmug's pro account.
And if you do use them, feel free to use:

when you register.

Now Iv only been with them for a few days but I think they are great.

I had to ask a couple of questions I emailed them to help me customize my site and they were extremely helpful and also answered within a few hours.
The site looks great and gives you a lot of customizable options.

Plus depending on the package you want you can sell your photo's and a whole bunch of other options.
You can check out my site link bellow and see what you think.

If you do decide to go with them here is a coupon code you can use to save yourself $5. qO2grW2D8sdTQ
