I think what it boils down to is whether you have a light meter in your head or not. I don't. I suspect most amateurs don't either.

I'm not sure what they mean by "analog cameras" these days. Do you think they mean "film cameras" . . . but they don't actually know what they're called, so they call them "analog" instead?

analog is supposedly the opposite of digital. new cameras are digital, so old cameras, i.e. film, must be analog.

this makes more sense with other tech. records are certainly analog, while CDs and now streaming music is digital.

Out here, I can point the camera at the dirt and add about 1/2 EV exposure and get:

I used to have the settings from the end flap of a box of Kodak memorized. It generally was very close.
