Seems to be more desire for more samples. I can throw up some more samples i'd like to know what subject matter etc. Right now Tiff files are eating up my bandwith, so I will put op Raw files and Jpegs, if that suits the crowd.

Please sound off as to what type of samples etc you would like to see.

Thanks guys,

Carl

You can help support my site by purchasing the A700 through here, if you were already planning on purchasing it. Thank you in advance everyone!

I just want to be able to open whatever you put up. I cannot open the tiffs or the raws. I think that downloading trial versions of LR, PSE, Bibble, and PSPro have somehow usurped my old "open with" associations and I do not know how or have time to figure out how to undo everything and redo settings. So please post jpegs, even if you convert your raws to jpegs for forum viewing. I just would like to see pictures. We have waited so long and I have only been able to open silly skewed jpegs used by the naysayers. I think I've only been able to open maybe six good pictures from this camera since its release. Subject doesn't matter. ChaCha

Some beautifully done portraits. Skin tones, detail, etc.

Thanks for your efforts here, guy. Some of us actually do appreciate it, that you and the other new A700 owners are actually putting the camera through it's paces.

And BTW, it's impossible to actually win the 'pixel-peeper wars', so quit wasting your time there. Some 'peepers' will never be convinced of anything other than there own opinions, regardless of how much, or little, their own opinions might be informed.
Just show us all some real world great photography. Thanks, man. :-)

Man Sol are you ever right. I've given up on those guys. To me they are just saboteurs. Lets be honest. If someone doesn't like the car you bought, they just say so, maybe offer their reasons, but they don't keep coming back and telling you over and over, continually arguing with you every time you mention something you like about the car or every time you find real world evidence to refute their theory based agenda. Something else is going on when that happens, something very destructive indeed. ChaCha

and also high contrast shots where dynamic range is seen. Also some landscapes would be nice..

Carl,

There is just something about the way you are posting these samples that I hate. You show these little blue folders and files instead of thumbnails, and I don't know what I'm opening. I just now sat here and waited for a TIF to download, and it was one I already saw.

Also, no corrections to your preview pages yet?

Gary

I agree. Also, I haven't been able to open your A700 review at the web site you are using. I'd very much like to read it. Could you post your pix and review on this site? Best, Les

I'd like to see jpegs, xfine, iso 200:
=neutral vs vivid
=sharpness 0 vs +1 vs +2 vs +3

Keep up the good work. Thanks!

Sorry Gary, the file folders are named to what is inside, also the
files themselves are named as what type of file, what would you like
different?
The short answer is thumbnails. I'm a visual person.

As for type of pictures, I suggest people with suits or dresses with fine textures that you can really zoom in on and see differences. I have some amazing examples from my a100. I'll try and find them when I get home.

Carl, you are going to have that camera worn out and still not gave any shots for yourself. ;-))

Joking aside, thanks for the time and effort. I'm also interested in the portrait shots.

Take the scenic route! Life is too short to do otherwise.

This would be a telling test of the improved AF system.

I've seen your shots on PBase, I understand what you are looking for.

We'll see if I can find that specific request anytime soon.

As for my site with the thumbnails, don't know if I'm going to be able to accommodate you there as unfortunate as that may be.

I set this all up at the last second so that people could get some full resolution samples as soon as possible. I am not a webmaster nor do I claim to be. I am a photographer who thought it would help those wanting to buy the A700 see some decent samples.

What I can do, and will do for newer examples, is give a better description for each file I put on that site, that way there will be no guessing.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review and the efforts!!!!

I would like to see some portraits too. If possible converted from RAW up to ISO800.
And a bird/cat/dog at a distance, shot at ISO800, full size, converted from RAW.
Thanks!
