I have been pretty busy the last couple weeks with my engraving business. Of course, I could get alot more work done if I could stay off this computer and the Oly forum.

I did take some pictures at my niece's wedding a week ago....still waiting for approval to post on the web. I made a fun slideshow of the wedding with PhotoJam thanks to Sandman's advice to give it a try.

I made a 380 mile round trip to play golf on Monday (6th)....left at 5 am...played 36 holes and got home at 10:30 pm......great day!!

Have been playing a little with close-up filters....but running out of things to shoot around the house.

I remembered you were off attending to your sister.

I pray all will be well with her and that you get some "fun" time in with the nieces too.

Take care of you..

My 34 year old sister had to have a hysterectomy
yesterday...hopefully not cancer...
Been caring for my two wonderful nieces...I am wiped out!

sharing about the photojam, I hope we get a chance to see it. Several have asked about slide show software recently.

380 miles to hit a small ball into small holes???? Did you shoot any between holes???

I would be interested in seeing some shots of your engraving business too!

Glad to hear you have a new job....sorry we won't be seeing as posts from you. The mill shots are very interesting.. Is this a working mill still?
I have started a new job and have not had much time to read posts
let alone get out and shoot. I was able to some shots this last
weekend. Here is a couple.

Been missing a few people around here and wondering if we are all
just so busy at work or on assigments or now off to other places.

I thought we could all sign in and post a link or message about
what is happening.
I just got back from an extended weekend in Georgia to attend the Georgia Renaissance Faire and stay at a lovely B&B. My photos are in:

(Note, those of you with slow connections might want to avoid this, since I currently don't split up the albums, so visiting the page will download all of the thumbnails).

so haven't read all posts here-

RichO- thanks for checkiing on the family ;-)

DizzyDom- Culture is good!
Sandman- Tree house! Exciting and I am looking ofr it.

"Nieghborhoods" as we call the kid down the street are busy on one now. I'll shoot it too. What a great idea - Tree houses? (anyone) let's post 'em omn Sandman'sthread when he posts his.

Kim K - I hope your trip to Applegate refreshes you! Wish I could have made it over there- rain check please- Oh, remember to shoot those otters!

I have just completed the fire escape at Drewsey, OR community hall - interesting enough the one we removed only had steps to about five feet off ground - they figured if you escaped that far you could jump the rest of the way.
Drewsey,OR Jail

and I am just about to complete the rebuilding of 16 LF of cellar wall under bunkhouse- now called

the Tower House of Bell-A Ranch. built 1890 something - 2 ft thick dry packed walls/ dirt/ no mortar except at exterior seams -

suspended bunkhouse- took down wall after photographing exterior rock placement/ numbered and stacked rocks as they were removed to replace historically (to the eye) after footing and interior structural wall placed. Used motar in rebuilding and will use color match chinking overlay to match color of seams existing.
Big Puzzel? Yes! Success? Yes!

Thanks for checking in...

and sharing as you gallop by...

I noticed you.

Didn't take the time to read the other threads....but as for myself, I have been out taking more photos.....learning to edit.......studying tutorials.....making cards.......trying to improve my techniques.....and I don't know what all.........there aren't enough hours in my days!

I also spend a lot of time going through messages in the forums....probably too much time...but then I continue to learn, so I guess it's not wasted. Thanks for asking RichO!

I guess assembling a new lens would have been more appropriate. I will post her when I get all the parts and assemble them. Still missing one or two.

Boy a week in Italy can really set you back at work. I've hardly had time to look at my pictures at home.

I hope to get some editing done this weekend.

I've been keeping busy trying to find places that might be willing to publish some of my work. So far, only a newspaper. Waiting patiently (NOT) for magazine editors to reply to my e-mails. 2 replied with some interest, but no sales yet.
not giving up yet.

I have been here hoping for a soft afternoon rain I need some really good shots of rain falling on the trees out back.

I wrote a poem about that over a year ago.

One of my more "passionate" series...called

First Love Of The Rain
:)
Haven't gotten out this week with the camera at all...It's been
raining so hard here we're considering building an ark! Only time
it hasn't been raining, I've been at work...plan on getting out
tomorrow though.

Am counting the days for my return trip to S. Cal all by myself....

So I expect to see some photos of the sails flying in the wind with the clouds overhead and clear sailing waters ahead...

Right????
:)

My other passion is sailing. My wife and I have been getting the
boat ready for one of a couple cruises that we take in late spring
and late summer. We are usually out of touch for 3 to 6 weeks. We
will be on our way once we get a little better break in the
weather...it has been a terrible spring here.

Keeping on keeping at it... I know that is my weakness... I do not like to have to contact people to selll my creative work....but if you want to be published it takes a strong courageous persistence.

Hang with that newspaper...that counts lots and gives you a platform.

How is everything in the new home???

Welcome...okie

My self-portrait was one of the first to be posted....it shows my wonderful aquarium home I live in (allergies and all that ya know...)

The magic of this or any forum is simple...

People sharing...

:)
Just signing in. Relatively new to the whole works---new camera,
new to the forum, new on pbase (not quite a week). Lurked here for
a while and am now starting to respond some and put some messages
out. Great place here from my observation---people are friendly,
interested in learning for themselves and helping others learn,
good place to grow and develop, lots of talent here, good humor and
fun seems to be abundant. I have seen some of the same people
enough on the forum over a short period of time that I feel like I
know them.

My selfportrait is posted in the members gallery now (page 9). Is
yours?

Would enjoy comments on my galleries---comments, remarks (snide and
otherwise)....
