Hi, I have recently been hacked and have installed a new 1TB Samsung SSD as C Drive and am now rebuilding my programs. The PC is 5 years old - 32MB, AMD R7 3800X.

I still have the original C drive and was hoping to be able to copy the .ircat catalog file across but find it has a red square in front of the file name and won't be accepted by the new LrC install. I tried re-starting the PC with the old C drive, running the old copy of LrC and hoping to back up the catalog again but it didn't work.
On looking at this .ircat file it is only 5MB so obviously not the original.

I guess I will have to re-import the pictures, mostly RAW's with some tif, jpg, etc, dating back 70 yrs - only 350k+ !

Any ideas?

Thanks, Allan

Unless you have turned off Lightroom's automatic backup on exit, you should have a backup of your catalog in the same folder as your catalog.

Feel free to retouch any photograph I post in these forums. They probably need it. :)
