I just received my camera (very impressed with its build quality). After sticking in a 1GB, 80x card from Transcend, I found the RAW write to be more like 6-7 secs than the 12-15 secs previously reported. Can anyone offer a good answer? Not that I'm complaining about the speed, of course.

Hi Chris,

maybe you have a newer release? are you able to tell the Firmware revision on your camera?

This is very promising news...

Kind Regards

Brian

on my panasonic pro high speed card i have also raw file writing time about 6-7s. Panasonic card with GRD good performance was reported many times before.

I think my firmware is the latest version 2.20.

I don't know why happened. I changed some settings and now the write time is more like 10sec.

Barm have you noticed the settings do affect write time?

i haven't noticed any influence of settings to write time. Before, for 9 months i've used san disk extreme III card with the same nominal write speed, but the panasonic works much faster.

My Panasonic Pro High Speed saves Raw files in 9 to 10 seconds. How do you get 6 to 7s?

The Panasonic Pro Hi Speed card is golden, that is the one I have in 512MB. It takes me 9-10s to have the hand back after taking a 3:2 RAW picture. Sometimes it even takes up to 18s! It seems to depend on the complexity of the picture.

I will do some more experiments, there has to be a setting that affects RAW write times. We have the same camera, the same memory card.
