When shooting RAW + JPEG, the camera automatically uses the same numbered file name for the matching RAW and JPEG files. However, when I use the in-camera RAW editor, the resulting JPEG has a different numbered file name.
For example
R001.DNG (original RAW)
R001.JPG (original JPEG)
R002.JPG (in-camera edited JPEG)
If I edit an image on a different day, then the in-camera edited JPEG files also appear in the folder for the current day instead of the folder where the original images were taken. I do all of my shooting and editing in camera so sometimes have multiple JPEGs of my keeper shots that are created on different days.
Is there any way to change this? The mismatching file names and different directories make transferring and organizing photos on my computer a little more complicated. DAMs like digiKam allow for image grouping buy capture time, but not all software does.
If this cannot be changed, what other tips/advice can I use to optimize my photo processing workflow with the GR III?
