Rating Images On Camera (A7RV)?

I shoot in RAW and sometimes like to rate images with clients on the back of the camera.

With my Canon, there's a dedicated "Rate" button which I can click 1-5 times to give stars that show up as such in Lightroom.

I've only seen that the A7RV will rate JPG's. Does anyone have any experience with being able to rate RAW's on the camera.

This, btw, is when I'm shooting outdoors, which I do frequently. I know, of course, that I can tether when shooting indoors, whether at a studio or a client's office/place of business, etc.

Cheers, Charles

The rating facility works equally well with RAW and JPEG, and the stars are recorded in the EXIF metadata.

I believe it is assigned to the C3 button (next to Menu) by default on the A7RV. You can check by opening the yellow menu, going to the 3rd option Operation Customise, going to the 3rd sub menu (for playback), and looking at the 1st subsubmenu - item 2 should be Rating (if it's not, you can set it!).

You display the image on the rear screen and press C3 up to 5 times to get that many stars (6th press takes it back to 0).

In Adobe Bridge you can select to show only the images with specific numbers of stars, like 2 and 3)

Oh, and one extra customisation is possible - you can choose to have the Rating button restricted to a subset - I have it set to do 1, 3, or 5 stars.

Thank you for such incredibly specific advise!

Mine was set to lock and I just changed it to rating.

So helpful. Thank you!

Would love this feature so hoping I similarly just have not turned it on. have the A7rIV not V
I have no idea about the IV, but check out the detailed instructions I was given above and see if the option is in there.
