R5 Intervalometer Issue

The R5 Intervalometer resets to "Disabled" after each shooting sequence. That is, if the intervalometer is set to record 40 frames, the setting reverts to Disabled after 40 frames & has to be reset to Enabled to record the next sequence.

If I recall correctly, my old 7DII was capable of capturing another sequence (with the previous settings) simply by pressing the shutter button.

I'm sure I'm just missing the instructions to enable continued captures without having to Enable. Does anyone know how to set this for the intention described above?

(I am not shutting off or allowing the camera to sleep between sequences)

Thanks

If I remember correctly, my 5D4 did the same thing. I ended up using a wireless external control (Vello ShutterBoss) for intervalometer shots, as it saves the settings until you change them.

I never could figure out why Canon always reset the intervalometer :(
