When testing my new EM1 iii, I encountered an issue while shooting bracketed shots with a self-timer. Typically, when I set bracketing to 5 shots at 1.0 EV and activate the self-timer, I expect all 5 shots to be taken in succession (as my Canon R6 operates). However, I found that only one shot was taken, requiring me to press the shutter button four more times to complete the bracketed sequence.

To address this inconvenience, I discovered a solution using the Custom Timer feature. By adjusting the number of frames in the Custom Timer to match the Bracketing Sequence, I could capture all bracketed shots with a single shutter press.

Here's an example of what that looks like:

My Bracketing sequence settings (5 frames)
My Bracketing sequence settings (5 frames)

My Custom Timer settings (2s timer, x5 frame sequence, 0.5s between frames, no focus between frames)
My Custom Timer settings (2s timer, x5 frame sequence, 0.5s between frames, no focus between frames)

I found this feature valuable enough to assign it to the C4 mode on my camera. This allows me to easily access bracketed shots when shooting from a tripod. Hopefully, someone else will find this tip helpful!

IDK if you are aware of it but this forum is dedicated to arguing furiously about mundane matters like company names, P. v O., and the perennial champion, equivalence. Such a novel and helpful as this will certainly raise some eyebrows but is appreciated nonetheless.
