Question about filters

It sure has helped. I have been messing around withi Resolve this afternoon. I ran across a Youtube tutorial about it and it has helped a lot. Been using the Cut page like you suggested. It looks like it will be fun once I get the hang of it. I have been working on a short video of one of my cats to get the hang of it. It will be my first movie. WoooooooooHooooooooo!

Thanks!
Glad to hear it has been helpful!

The thing about Resolve is if you are unable to do what you want in the Cut Page, then just switch to the Edit Page which gives you more tools (although is less intuitive if you haven't worked with Vdieo Editing Software before_.

It's great that you are taking video of your cat. If you or your friends have a hobby that would have good visual interest, that would aslo be something worthwhile to practice shooting video with.

Please upload any test footage you shoot to youtube (you can leave it Unlisted - just not private - if you like) and then create a post in these forums and link to it. Then we can all critize your videography skills... um... I mean... "give you constructive criticisim to improve your videos."

You should start with the look and not little bits of it.

Anaphoric doesn't have to end up 2.39. Lots of 16x9 TV is shot using those lenses. It doesn't have to have flare. Over the years flares have come into and out of fashion. They don't need to be soft. Some are really clean with almost no breathing.

It's like anything else today. The companies can make different things and if they think you'll pay for it they will.

The oval bokeh is one of hallmarks but that tends to require higher squeeze factors. A 1.333x lens is likely to be more "normal"

You can just stick diffusion on your lenses but you risk the image just looking fuzzy.

Cinematic tends to be more intentional.
