Please forgive my question, what is C1 rebel? It might be the software that came with the camera? I didn't install it because I had a card reader. Does everyone install the software with the 300d?

Well at $500 I guess I won't be buying it. I have PScs. But like my camera, it's new too and hard to learn it all in a minute.

C1 Rebel is for converting RAW files. It's $49 (unless they changed the price recently), and is excellent value for that amount. I find I need little or no post-processing beyond the adjustments C1 allows prior to the actual conversion process (to tiff or jpeg).

CI for RAW processing and Photoshop 7 for final post processing.
I use the file viewer utility that came with the Rebel software for my Raw images.
I also use JASC Paint SHop Pro for all of my post processing. Kind of like Photoshop, only cheaper and better.
