Hi,

My Xiaomi Mi Note 10 screen has gone faulty and I I can no longer use it. I've been using this with gcam and have been very pleased with the results. I use it both for personal photography and also for work. I'm an architect so not-very-beautiful survey photos are very important and I do need to pixel peep to pick up details I may need to refer to when I'm back in the office.

Rather than just replacing it with the same, I'm considering upgrading but I'd apprecaite any thoughts on potential options from those who use/have used Gcam. Some new 'nice to have's' would be 5g and waterproofing. I find most modern phones adequate in terms of performance though, so the main variable is the camera.

Thoughts so far are (looking at used phones)

- Just buy another Mi Note 10 - circa £170-£200

- upgrade to Mi 10 Pro for better screen and 5g £350

- upgrade to Mi11 Ultra getting quite expensive at £550+

- change to oneplus 9 pro, roughly £350, Ip rated and can use Gcam but fewer cameras

- Change to Samsung s21 Ultra £400ish

this would be exynos due to location so probably no Gcam. Can anyone comment on the quality of the latest Samsung camera release? Online reviews are not very useful as few reviewers have used Gcam to compare. I've been burned before when changing to a Huawei p30 pro from LG G6 with Gcam and the quality just wasnt as good (low light photography great though!). I'm also a bit concerned by it binning to 12mp as well on the main camera vs the 27mp I was getting.

Aplogies for the long post. all opinions apprecaited.

IMO MI 10 PRO may be the best option, if You are lucky You can also try with MI10 Ultra - it's almost like DSLR after install fullres mod and GCAM :)

IMO another Mi Note 10 for cheap, IMO there's no reason to expend so much on the Mi 10 Pro that lacks phone jack or any other.
The Mi Note 10 (and the Mi 10 Pro) have the best combination of cameras, and right now it seems manufactures are on a race to deliver the next generation sensors and camera combination (1" main + 2.0" 4x zoom mostly), so would be a good idea to wait be expending more on another phone.

Thanks for your thoughts. Strong support for xiaomi. Mi ultra would be nice but is missing some call bands where I live. Quite tough to find used ones at the moment too.

Maybe the same again for a while is easiest. It is slightly annoying my phone is fine but the touch input has gone haywire. Just hitting random things on its own and not responding to touch. Can't input my pin or even switch it off! New screen is more expensive than buying another.

Any thoughts on the pixel 6 pro? They seem to be quite cheap now. Not sure if I can full res on the main sensor and ultra wide seems not to have auto focus.
