What confuses me is that there are settings for colour spaces in the monitor OS and in the computer OS. What sense does it make to set the monitor to, for example, Adobe RGB and the display settings in Windows or Mac OS to S-RGB? What is their interaction?
If it only makes sense to set both to the same colour space, why don't they come to an agreement among themselves and leave me alone?
