OM-5 Mark ii - Please Help List the New / Updated Features

Since OMDS has officially stated, your speculation has lower priority.

A pin? A metal piece with no connection to the proper circuitry can exist.
Sure, but at times, I've found that at times things are still supported but are not listed in the documentation.
The current compatibility table still lists the FL-300R and FL-600R, which were discontinued years ago, and it states that "FL-LM3 is incompatible with the OM-5Ⅱ".

Fair enough. I didn't check the list.
I did check the OM-1 mark II and OM-3 documentation, and the FL-LM3 is still listed as being supported.
OMDS Japan is still selling the FL-LM3 and they provided this table too. No place for false hope.
The FL-LM3 is no longer listed on the USA page.

New / updated:
  • 3 different colour schemes
  • New (OM-1-style) menu system
  • USB-C charging
  • Possible changes to the baseplate / tripod socket / battery cover design?
Gone / downgraded:
  • FL-LM3 compatibility
Are any of the following new / improved?
  • IBIS
  • Live composite
  • Hi-Res modes
  • In camera focus stacking
The back button has been renamed from AEL/AFL to AF-On, which makes more sense.
These are not the same functions.

On my EM5 MkII, I can only get AF-ON with the lens function button whereas, AEL/AFL can be assigned to any button.

Speaking of AEL/AFL - I REALLY WISH Olympus and, now, OM Systems would separate these just like they are on Panasonic cameras.

Isn't this a new feature?
Not really. At least on the OM-3, the CP button is a faster way to enable the computational photography features than selecting the items in the menu separately. The CP features are:
  • High resolution
  • Focus stacking
  • ND filter simulation
  • HDR1/HDR2 (and)
  • Multiple exposure
With the exception of hand held high resolution mode, I believe the OM-5 supported all of the CP modes that the OM-5 mark II does. The OM-5 mark I did support tripod high resolution mode.

Hmm, none of the manuals that I checked list which lenses can be used for focus stacking. Instead, you have to go to the web site to see what lenses are supported. I imagine the same lenses are supported.
Right. It's a new way to access features that existed on the OM-5. Though that's not nothing; having a physical control for something definitely makes it so you're more likely to use it.

Not new for OM, but new for the 5 series.

Exactly. It's something I miss on my OM-1 Mark II now that I've used it on my OM-3. It deserves a dedicated (or mappable to a) button.

We are comparing to OM-5. My OM-5 has AF-On assigned to the AEL/AFL button.

maybe so but that does not make it more sensible. So you have a button marked AF-ON and you want it to be Auto Exposure Lock, then what?

On my EM5 MkII, there are no buttons marked AF-ON, most of them just have numbers Fn1 to Fn4 and what you are calling AF-ON is Fn1 and I have it assigned to Multi-Function

The original OM 5 does support Hand Held High Res shooting.

Thanks. Since I don't own an OM-5 or ever used any of the high resolution modes on any camera that supports it, I must have missed it when I scanned the manual.
