Hi,
I annually travel to photograph the NCAA track and field championships.
I started in 2013 using the Pentax K20 with a Sigma 18-250, eventually getting the Sigma 50-500 and upgrading to the K-3.
As rules changed at stadiums I started having trouble getting large kit into the stands consistently
I'm now shooting Olympus. Last year I had the EM1 Mk3 and I used the 12-100 pro lens. It was fine, but I missed having some extra range. This year I have an OM-1 Mk2 and will take the 12-200. I know it will be a slower lens but I think the extra range will be helpful in some situations.
What I'm really interested in is if anyone is using the OM-1 mk2 and the human detection for sports, specifically running, but also soccer and what settings they find useful.
In the past I've typically used a medium focus area slightly above and to the left of center with continuous auto focus and gotten decent results. I don't use subject tracking, find that doesn't work well
Thanks in advance for any advice
