New noise reduction filter

I may not make friends with this statement but some people just KILL me with their attitude...Dave went thru a lot of trouble to program something and shared it for free....I used to program code for websites i know what goes into this......I used to have my own business and Im in the process of starting another...If I gave everything away for free Id never make a dime...I know there is no commercial posting allowed but I never felt Dave was trying to be overly commercial or just trying to push a product...he contributes a lot to this forum it seems to me and to plug a 10.00 software program he iniTIALLY GAVE FOR FREE and then to have people COMPLAIN and WHINE galls me....everyone wants something for free..........I know alot of people who post here are not from America, but a lot of us here are entrepneurial and have a small or home based business, we are the backbone of this country....I for one like to deal with small businesses I purposely try to patronize them locally and online...If you are not comfortable doing so then so be it...DONT WHINE about it....-- http://www.pbase.com/wbrosen/photoart

I totally agree ang will give full support to Dave. Although I live in HK I will find a way to send the money.

Sometime I just question that will people do the same and demand for a free copy of Window XP from Microsoft because you have done some beta testing ? Be reasonable.

One solution to your bandwidth problem would be to compress your plugin with something like winzip. The size goes from around 1 megabite uncompressed to 86k compressed. You can also make a self extracting compressed version that would be around 123 kbites.

Just my 2 cents and thanks again for providing the plugin.

Hello again,

After giving it some serious thought, I decided that all this
trouble just wasn't worth it. I've gotten a very bad reception from
many people on the board here (although some have been very
supportive - thank you) and decided that I probably made a mistake.
Please believe me when I say I'm not trying to make any big money
from you folks on here - if I wanted to do that, I'd have to charge
much more than ten dollars. As a show of good faith, the filter is
now free to DPReview readers (at least for the near future). If you
like it, all I ask is that you drop me line. For those of you who
have already paid for it, I'm in the process of refunding your
money back to your PayPal account. This might take a day or two, so
bear with me. If you purchased it and don't recieve a PayPal
deposit by Friday, please email me. Otherwise, enjoy!

I just purchased an IR filter for my 6900z and paid $90 for it.............$10
seems like a bargain. I hope to see more filters on the forum, Dave and
will gladly pay for them. thanks!!--Lois

Is this file still available? The password will not work.
Thanks,

Hi all,

I've just finished my new noise reduction filter and I would like
to offer it to all my friends here on the forum... I'm including
the download link in this message along with the user/pass combo -
it will work for about 24 hours while you all download it. It was
very hard to try and find a good balance between reducing noise and
keeping details - how do you know if one black pixel somewhere is
noise or if it's really an important detail? Anyway, I think I've
got it down really well.

Found my way here in a roundabout way...

As a student of photoshop, image editing and novice retoucher I would love to try out your creation. I tried the posted user/pasword combo but the download remains behind security. Or maybe I am doing something wrong?
Thanks for your help.

I have been trying to work on a photoshop action for noise reducing D30 high ISO images. Here is a result from running the original through one of those actions:

Thanks.
