Need to replace 8 monoblocks. I bought 1 Godox to test before I go all in.

AC powered makes more sense for studio, but with multi light setups it is nice not having power cables all over the place.

Maybe a mixture of both ?

Also, extension heads are nice with large modifiers.

It doesn't make sense to invest $40 each into camera specific transmitters that will be used to only trigger dumb monoblocks..
Which is why Adorama came out with their $25 Flashpoint SPT single-pin transceivers .
It would be better just to spend $139 to get new "smart" monoblocks that have built in wireless triggers with complete remote control that is not camera specific.
Yup. BTW, the Godox MS series is newer than the SKII, but only 200 Ws and 300 Ws units, and slower on the recycle. Smaller and go down to 1/32, though, not just 1/16.
I looked at all the Godox receivers to see if they had one made to trigger dumb flashes.. Thanks for sharing the Flashpoint SPT, I totally forgot about that. Just ordered 2 of them.

I also own 4 Canon Speedlights. I have never mixed monoblocks with speedlights on the same shoot.. But technically I guess I could and it would all play together very nicely if I kept the X1's...

I wonder what I could get for my 4 flextt5's and 1 ac3 controller on the used market? I bet they are not worth much, and I blame Godox! (Joking). I wonder how much longer will Pocket Wizards even be around as a company. I would love to be a fly on the wall in their private executive meetings.. How the hell did they let Godox even come in and change the game like they did... Why didn't pocketwizards come out with their own line of lights with the wireless tech built it!? I see no reason pocketwizrads could not have been the current godox.... But then again if they would have, maybe they would not be charging Godox prices.

I wonder if Godox stock is trading on any of the markets? Interested is seeing how they are fairing in the pandemic. They might be ripe for a breakout when get on the other side of this.
