Looks like the canon is even quite a bit less expensive

Looks on the pricy side, would probably get the Canon 100-400mm L
IS glass instead if I had that much to spend

I hadn't seen the $2600 list price....That's almost twice as much as the Canon equivalent! Is Sigma out of their minds?!?!?

Surely the final street price will be lower....At least $1500 lower....
