How about that. I believe this is the first time we've heard of the V1 being used for professional work int he studio. Are these going to be used for clothing catalogs?

Your English is fine.

You may want to give some thought to either more light or brighter exposure, but you're doing fine.

You have some nice pics there. But save yourself so much post work and get a decent backdrop and use some light on it so you don't get shadows. Nothing wrong with fixing it later I suppose but why not just do it right the first time.

Generally very nice. I did notice the seam in the background running down the middle of the frame. You said you have been editing those. You may want to consider a roll of white seamless paper:

It comes in 9 foot rolls and looks very good in pictures. Especially if you can light the background separately from the models. I noticed you were using at least two lights. A third light would let you light the background, or alternatively, using the second light to light the background and a foamcore reflector as the fill for the models. Worth a try anyway. A lit background will look much better than an unlit background unless that is the style you are going for.

Be careful with those low angle shots, the top of the background and beyond shows up in some of the images. Always tough to keep looking for the end of the background showing in the frame, but it saves editing it out later which can save time if you are on a deadline.

And it looks like something behind the background is showing through the fabric slightly. You may need to cover whatever that is with extra white fabric so it does not show through.

But you are on your way, this kind of practical experience will make your next shoot that much higher in quality and satisfaction. Keep at it, it is looking good. The details and exposure and focus look great.

hmmm... generally ok... models look great for sure... posing
is adequate...background seam is showing through?...floor
fabric rippling effect is ok but the hard shadows or not...
ok if this is your first or second try at it... well you asked for
criticism and you got it... everything I've said is what I
honestly feel about the pix... good luck to you.

Yes was for clothing catalogs, was so good my print ( heidelberg Speedmaster 74 DI ) , I never thought I can use a small camera to do that , always I used 35 mm or 6x9 film . My client was surprise too.
I shoot in to three steps option ( - normal + ) to control more or less light .
I will post the final shoot later on.

V1 seems to be a strange choice for a studio camera. E20 or 717 would be much better. I think it's better to invest in something like 10D for a studio work, but it's only my opinion.

The point is that he did a studio job. And he didn't need to spend high-end bucks to get high-end results. Matter of fact, the only significant suggestions given to him so far involve lighting, not the camera.

The skin tone of the shots is not quite as important to him as he processes the pictures in post. With the F717, this is a challenge anyway, since you don't have RAW and you can't create a custom white balance for flash.

HOWEVER, your point is well taken, and it is quite applicable for Gabriel with the V1. Why so? Because the V1 can do a custom white balance WITH THE FLASH. I believe it can also do so with studio strobes (though I need to test for that). Therefore, I would strongly suggest to Gabriel that for his next shoot, he try to compensate here by using the V1's custom white balance. It could save a few extra steps in postprocessing.

I bought this V1 camera for home and for my jobs , why spent too much when I can get all in one camera ?

Thats right , Nikon or Canon professional digital cameras are the best , but when you can pay. In think in future I will get one of those , in might time I will use V1 , great camera.

Other way , I didn't have too much experience with light , thanks to Shay Stephens advice ( http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=569630 ) I going to improve my studio photos.

Oslo I shoot in indoor light , not very good idea , but with manual white balance ( pringled ) I will resolve this problem in future ( this I learn in this forum ( http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=5615027 ) thanks a lot .

V1 or 717 ? well , in mexico cost a lot more 717 than V1 , for quality I think is the same , more or less . I need to sacrifice some good things ( professional cameras ) to get my job working.

V1 is not like professional camera , but you can use it like it.
