My first feature movie, done with D7000

Very well done, I liked the preview a lot!

I wish you a great success with the movie, and I applaud on your courage to go with a Nikon D7000, which I think is a perfect camera for video as well as for pictures!

This post needs more replies, many people doubt Nikon's video performance.

We have a Nikon D3200, and a D800 on the way as we are doing more and more videos.
We are also going to have a look the JVC 150E, 3ccd chips camcorder. (see link).

I did a few video tests with the D3200......lol total nightmare, talk about awkward to use.

What do u think of the JVC.

Regards

Hello George
Yes I hope to have in the near future the D800 as well.

About the JVC, I don't uses camcorder, my natural tool to work is the photographic camera, I don't feel comfortable with a camcorder.

Hello Xenon

between D90 and D7000 it was a very big leap in video quality. The D7000 is simply the best Nikon camera that I own in my life

Wow! Amazing images. I can hardly believe this was done with a D7000.

Inspires me to use video more often. I just wish I had a fraction of your talent!

Hello Hotphotons

I don't understand why the D7000 is so underrated in video capabilities. I understand with the horrible video from D90, but D7000 is just excellent, and I do prefer the natural cinema look over the Canon by far.
with respects

Congratulations on some very atmospheric work.Justshows what the D7000 is capable of in skilled hands.I only use mine for stils as I have no experience with video..time to start trying to figure it out maybe!

Great job!!

I look forward to see the final version in theaters. I am a paraguayan architect with passion for photography with some video productions on hand. Hope to meet you soon here in Asunción.

best regards

Martin, thank you for all the good and interesting answers. Some months ago I actually looked at http://www.zacuto.com "the-great-camera-shootout-2011". Compared very carefully the test images (I think in part 2 of the shootout) and the result was that there was hardly any difference in video sharpness between Canon 5D MarkII and Nikon D7000. After that I saw a documentary made with 5D MkII projected to a cinema screen. And yes, it was sharp enough for the big screen. Actually amazing. The only technical problem the documentary had were some rolling shutter issues... - By the way, did you had to delete any scenes because of moire?

excelente! me gusta la foto de arquitectura y algún día me gustaría contar con una lente de la línea PC, un 24 mm no estaría mal.
Nos vemos!

Hello Sea Hunt

I had 2 moire problems in the movie, with surfaces with small squared textures:

a teatowel in the background in a laundry scene, another was an anti mosquito wondow screen.

Both were resolved in After Effect with hard work.

Good job. I like the artistic feel and expression. It has a lot of honest character.
