If their your biggest sellers, they obviously work for some people then ;-)

I've seen some of your work and i am one that does like the processes look or mild lucis effect.

It is personal preference and a lot of people love the effect even if over done, as to most people who are not into photography, the effect is different and not mainstream, therefor to some its quite an impressive technique, even though with lucis it takes very little effort, just the click of a button to convert ( a little more playing I know) but I'm always getting people asking me how i get that 'painting' look.

I like the effect--and it is an effect.

Your point is well taken in the sense that it does not have a realistic/natural photograph look.

But the effect, as it turned out, is an exquisite graphic art effect.

Thanks a lot for your comment.

With so many opinions I read else where against hdr I wasn't sure i what I should think of it. I thought maybe I was some kind of easy-to-impress post-processing beginner (which I am, actually)

I was wondering WHY, regardless of some negative comments I still liked the second one so much!

You're right: it's an effect. But so is black-and-white, in my opinion. Unless you're color blind, black-and-white has also little to do with reality, at least from a color perspective ;)

Let's just think of some of the great black-and-white lanscapes by -Master- Ansel Adam. Well mastered, the Zone System has the ability to make things look not only great but kind of impossible and unrealistic too...

The bottom line is that I found that all the people I showed the pictures to and who were not "into" photography liked the HDR look. So my feeling is that as the majority of the people will apreciate such picture, whithout making any distinction such as "yeah, it looks good but it's not a real/natural picture (...)"

anyway, happy holidays to you all!

best regards,

Phil G
