I posted some shots sunday, from that morning, which came strait from the camera. Here is one I worked on in PS, and to my feeling it's one of my best ones yet. If you like it, please let me know; if you don't like it, let me know why!

Hello Greg,

Good image. The repeating patterns, reflections, and fog all work very well together.

Hello Greg,

I think you have captured a very beautiful scene: Rays of light penetrating the woods with a crystal clear relection on the mirror-like water...However, this might be one of those cases when there're too much good things in one image...Personally, I think the relection is stealing the attention away from the beautiful lighting condition you had in the woods (the tonal of the reflection is even darker than the actual trees). Have you tried to crop out about half of the reflection to see if you like the change in the mood and the focal point?
Great capture.
Regards,
Chuso

Thanks everybody for the kind words.

And Chuso, it's already a crop of a larger pic. I found it best this way, but thanks for your comment anyway. Btw, my brother had the same feeling about it as you, too much in one image, but I don't agree. As the french say: you don't discuss personal taste! :-)

Very nice shot Greg. Yes, you captured it beautifully. I'd put it in a frame and hang it on my wall!!!!

Greg...I love this shot...the emotion and atmosphere that you caught...wow!

I do though have to agree with chuso that you have too much here...I hope you don't mind but I tried my hand at this one...

Hope you like it...YP

Hi YP,
(sorry I didn't answer a bit faster, didn't check the forum for two days)

I don't mind you showing what you would have made of it, but I'll stick with my first opinion: I still like it better the way I originally posted it.

Thanks for each comment

Great shot, I like it because of the quality of the light, the reflections and the contrasty shadow areas. Thanks for sharing.

Take it to your local copy shot get it made into a laminated poster, large as you can . It is great. Art is in the eye of the beholder and if you love it then it is great. Where was it taken, area, state country etc.
thanks
Our scenery is very different down under

Thanks very much for your comment Mark, and Vera, you kind of make me blush... So you want to know where it was taken? Take your worldmap, point your eyes to Europe and search for the tiny country named "Belgium", right above France. Indeed, I come from the same country as Kim Clijsters, well known in Australia. The shot was taken in the most northern part of Belgium, in "the Heath of Kalmthout" (translation from "de Kalmthoutse Heide"). I asume it's very different from "down under", but I'm sure your scenery has a lot more to offer than our litle country with way too many ppl and buildings.

Thanks again!

Greg,

A very nice picture indeed, but I must agree with Chuso. I think you could make your picture even much stronger by cropping the picture a little bit above (to get rid of the green/blue cast ont the trees) and under (to attract the attention to the beautiful scene of the fog).

And darkening the picture a little bit would even intensify the golden glow of the sunrays on the fog and make the trees more mysterious.
I would give it a try.

But you sure captured a very nice scene.

Best regards

Luc

Love it! I think I would crop down a little of the water, where the tree tops start to show. Just my opinion. Nice work!
