I wonder if it has to do with 3rd party batteries (Nitecore) but I am not sure.

When walk around with my A1, the camera doesn’t seem to go to sleep and the battery lasts maybe 3 hours. I have checked settings and they seem ok. In the past I had the IR remote preventing sleep but that’s off.

Anybody have an idea what could be causing this?

Update: it seems to have to do with holding the camera. When I set it on a table, it goes to sleep.

Could it be the viewfinder "detecting" use and turning on? I always turn off the auto VF/LCD and assign a button to it.

Takes me back to when my daughter was tiny.

:)

I was going to suggest singing a lullabye to it... ;-)
