All with reversed MF sigma 24mm and homemade diffuser with pop-up flash. You can see and read about my setup here. blog.mdsign.nl (information link on the right) I wanted to make eyecontact with the bugs as if they wonder as much as I do when watching these critters.

cheers, Mark

Who did the great make-up work on your models? ;-)

Seriously, stunning work. Your earlier posts inspired me to order a used 24mm and a reversing ring which will hopefully arrive next week. I fear it will take a huge amount of time and practice to produce anything that remotely ressembles your fabulous pics. I don't suppose I ever will but you motivated me to try.

My wife and daughter are not pleased; I've explained that it's all your fault and you should be hearing from them soon ;-)

Great macro details Mark!
which sigma 24 lens did you use? will a Nikon 24 works?
I use the MF24mm http://www.photodo.com/product_463.html

Yeah I think the nikon will work as good as the sigma.
24mm reverse is very close to the subjects, impressive to get that
close to take a shoot.
Yes it is close but not extreme close. With the tamron it is 70mm and with the sigma reversed it is 52mm.

It is not that difficult. Lots of others have done it too. With a little practice on static subject youre of hunting for bugs.

How'd you get so close, and such good focus? I find I have to manually focus at high magnification, and even a little movement (either mine or the bug's) makes a tremendous difference in sharpness.

Great shots!!

And no tricks whatsoever. Just stalking. I did put some info about this technique on my website.

shot with perfection in mind and not bugs were hurt or frozen (except in the image) in the process:)

Not crazy about bug macro shots, but these are positively OUT OF THIS WORLD! My goodness - too good to be true. Man O man O man.............

Photography - One of the few things you can still do legally - sort of.
