I own this monopod.Hi David,
Thanks for posting that link. I had looked at that "footed"
monopod on the Manfrotto site before and wondered how sturdy it is.
The pictures in the link really help get a sense of how it works.
Still don't know if it'd be sturdy enough for the E-10 + Lipo, etc.

If you think you are going to kill 2 birds with 1 stone then this is not the piece for you. It is real handy for for "heavier" equipment like the e20, but do not believe that this will take the place of a solid tripod. It will help when you are in a pinch for remote group shots or any type of "point and shoot" situations as well a s being an excellent stand for strobes or extra lighting. As far as long exposures. NO WAY.
The tripod is still your best friend, but if your looking to go on a sunny day trip or need some assistance with stability you cannot beat the quality of this monopod.
