This Challenge starts right now and ends at October 20th, 2025, 24:00 GMT (so at the end of Monday in the UK). It will be some hours earlier in the U.S. If you are not sure about your zone, submit timely.

Maximum of three entries and ten exhibits per member, so take your time and choose carefully. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Winners will be selected only from Entries. Honorable Mentions may also be selected from Exhibits.

The topic of "Fall" has multiple meanings in English, all of which are allowed. You are permitted to use the "autumn" meaning even when living in the UK. But German (or likely Pennsylvania Dutch) specific meanings are out of scope.

The photo must be taken by you and only you (you pressed the shutter button, self timer or remote shutter release).

DPREVIEW rules regarding propriety apply. Any equipment and any post-processing may be used. I'll allow the use of AI as part of processing the final image, but if you used AI, that must be disclosed and it must not substantially alter the image content and message.

Please submit your pictures as a REPLY to this post.

Please indicate clearly whether your image is an Entry or an Exhibit. An undesignated post will be considered an Exhibit.

Comments on others' photos are permitted, but try to steer clear of influencing the judge, like by pointing out non-obvious greatness or faults before the results are published.

PLEASE consider making some of your posts Entries. We seem to cycle through the same few hosts of these Challenges. New and different hosts would help keep these Challenges fun with new and different ideas, and you can make as much or as little work of the hosting as you like. Thanks!

The 1st place winner will host the next Challenge, selecting the theme. If the winner does not respond within 3 days or declines to host, the 2nd place winner becomes the host. If the second-place winner declines, the 3rd place winner becomes the host.

OK, Jake - I like a good craft beer, but pumpkin??!!

Pretty places, Don! Good to see you posting! How are thing these days?

If there was an emoji for slapping one's forehead and roilling eyes for a bad joke, I would be using it right now... :-)

Not a bad spot to be in October, I would think.

Beautiful! Mostly maples?

Greg

Wow!

Thanks Greg. I'm holding steady. Not deteriorating, but not improving. Have three specialists watching over me regularly so can't complain. On the bright side, I am an awful lot better than I was 16 months ago. I do miss participating in my sports.

Don

Good to hear! I understand missing things that we used to be able do.

Thanks Greg. To my shame and humiliation I have to admit I am clueless when it comes to plants and trees. I BELIEVE there are a fair number of maples but certainly some other species as well.

2 more exhibits

Thanks - it was a wonderful bike tour. As I rode in the morning to the railway station, there was such a dense fog, that I could hardly see my way. We took the train to the North along Danube, from where we rode back to Budapest. At the beginning there was fog, but it cleared up eventually and the sight was improving. I got so excited, that I stopped my bicycle every now and then and went close to the Danube leaving the bike trail in order to get the next gorgeous shot. And then I rushed to catch up with the company.

Some fall pics. Early autumn is my favorite time of year. Somewhat quieter than the rush of summer and the traditional fall pastimes bring back good memories. And, days are still reasonably long with some pleasing autumn warmth.

Fall and college football certainly go hand in hand. A beautiful fall weekend at St. Johns (a perennial Division III powerhouse, coached by John Gagliardi for almost 60 years)

Memories of a maple. Unfortunately, this tree has since died but for years provided us with vibrant fall colors, not possible with the predominant bur oaks on our land.

Just got back from two weeks of cruising the Med. Here's a few Fall pics from my yard.

I have not had time to explore more areas for Fall photos.
