Memory card problem

I have a 256mb card in my Ixus 400, which has worked fine in the past. However, it's now showing "memory card full" even though I only have just over 20 images on it. Can anyone please explain what is happening?

I'll ask a dumb question. Have you tried formatting the card, in camera?

Yes I have! The menus actually coonfirm that I have a 256mb card installed (well, it actually says 243mb).

I have a 256mb card in my Ixus 400, which has worked fine in the

Hi, it seems like I have the same problem!

I recently purchased a Canon Powershot s400 with a ultra 512 sandisk CF.

The camera is excellent and work fine, except for the fact that I've been able to shot only about 40 pictures in high res mode and large format.

When I reformat the card, the counter gives approx 240 pictures to go, but as soon as I reach number 199, I got a "Memory card error". Therefore I have to dowload picutes, cancel or reformt the card and than shoot again.

I'd like also to know why I cannot see the card on my Mac powerpc desktop (I have a Cube with system 9.0 installed).

Kidder, you're sounds like a bad card. You're reaching a bad spot on the card and it quits. If you still can, return the card.

I'm not sure what's up with Keiron's issue.
