Memory card for a77

I have 2 Sandisk Extreme SDHC1 memory cards for my camera, a 16 GB 60 MB/s and a 32 GB 45 MB/s.

I am looking to buying a 64GB card but I cannot understand what the difference is between SDHC and SDXC cards.

And what is the diiference between the Sandisk Ultra, Extreme and Extreme Pro? How fast a card do I need with the a77?

SDXC has extra capacity, meaning beyond 32GB. If you buy a 64GB card, it will be SDXC.

Get any of them labelled PLUS or PRO. They'll be faster than the camera needs. The fastest Extreme PRO cards will probably only benefit you if you're copying files from the card to a computer or some other device.

And even then , you'll only get the benefit if the card reader supports these higher transfer speeds .

Mine certainly doesn't regardless of which card reader I use as it's plugged into a USB 2 socket .

Just buy a decent brand and don't worry about the speed. Your a77 doesn't need the fastest cards.
