At 1/800 sec, f/8 the bee's wings are still blurred- crazy!

I guess 1/2500th would be needed... just a guess.

I am not bothered by the bees wings being blurred. It is a great photo.

The rain has been relentless here in Sydney since the beginning of the year, with more falling in the first four months than the 12-month average.

I've not had much chance to get out with my new S5, but today (Sunday) it was sunny so I went for a short drive with my better half down the south coast.

This is a favourite spot visited by many, named Stanwell Tops, looking south. The air was quite clear today so it was a good view.

I am really happy with the colours and details from the S5. I am going to enjoy using this camera.

I love shots like these. Reminds me of the Oregon coast.

I agree- great photo.

I was simply pointing out how, at 800th of a second, the image of the wings were still blurred. I was wondering how fast the shutter would have to be to freeze motion of the bee’s wings.

Of course there are those on here who disagree with EVERYTHING I post, ignore my relevant posts, and never have a kind word for images I post.

Yet these folks don’t often post anything nice to look at or ponder upon- just all the gear they have (and rarely put to use) or act like know it alls.

What a shame…….

Hi

As the person who took the photo I was interested in your comment. I like to keep some motion in the wings.

Not sure what SS would be need to freeze them completely. I'll give it a try next time I'm making some images.

I apologize if you thought I was being argumentative. I just meant that I was not bothered by the wings being blurred.

No apology necessary

I wouldn't bother, I think you have the right idea already.
