Hi all
I got 2 new custom ICC paper profiles and tried them out with 2 new types of paper i started using.
One is Ilford metallic gloss and the other is Ilford smooth glossy.
I have already been using smooth pearl for a while and get great results, and also metallic gloss seems fine too but the smooth glossy is showing a magenta cast even though i seem to be doing everything i should, including using the moniter ICC profile throughout the whole workflow
Can't figure it out i just know it's only a problem with this paper, i took some screenshots for more detail

A strong magenta cast can be caused by the paper manufacturer adding too much OBAs to the paper. I'm not familiar with the papers you're using but I have used Kodak metallic which had a magenta cast before anything was even printed on it--a really bad paper.

That must be it then. I cant get any answers to this anywgere so i can only conclude that there is no soilution

I'll just have to get used to the tint slider

Just use a better paper. Red River Metallic (Mitsubishi), Moab and Breathing Color all have some OBAs but not enough to affect the overall color balance and Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Metallic has none at all and is the only "archival" quality metallic paper on the market--but it is also the most expensive one.

I use Breathing Color and Hahnemuhle without any color balance problems.

Turn off preview before printing. That will cause Magenta cast.

to narrow down the problem and remove a lot of variables.

1. Download a reference test photo.

Use the Datacolor Printer test photo with the 16 small photos in it.

2. Load it into Lightroom.

DO NOT EDIT IT OR ADJUST IT IN ANY WAY, even if it doesn't look correct on your monitor.

3. Print the photo from Lightroom using the standard Epson Glossy II ICC profile with your problem paper.

Report back the results.
