Macro anyone

Those are some pretty cool shots. I wondered if that might not be from the MP-65E. The links are helpful also. Nice work to all on this thread. I am pretty sure I will find an EF-S 60 Macro under the tree in a few days. My wifes B-day was the 19th and I gave her a diamond snowflake bendant so mabe I will shot that first.

Great photographs are 90 percent serendipity and somtimes, 10 percent by design!

These were posted weeks ago in the water droplets thread, but I am at somewhat of an artistic hiatus due to the curent inability to clean my lens. Perhaps when I return home, and do so, I will be able to churn out more of these for you guys. Heh. Thanks for looking.
The last two were not edited in any way.

I didn't see your post right away.

There is some good information about all of this on this forum:

http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/board/45

Click on the Macro Resource button and there are some links giving places that sell reversing rings and such. They're quite inexpensive.

Also, read my posts up above this in the thread. I posted a bit of an explanation (so far as what I know) and I also posted a few other links.

That forum has a lot of macro information and the people are good about sharing information. At least one of the threads I linked to above has some photos of one guy's setup with a lens reversed onto the front of a macro lens and then some extension tubes and maybe even a teleconverter in the stack! It gives pretty awesome magnification :)

I've got to try the reversed lens thing myself some time. It really does provide some incredible magnifications.

Have fun!

308shtr you've done a great job, just wondering if you are happy with the lightsphere? Do you use off camera cord and flash bracket? I have 430ex, don't know if the lightsphere work good with it. If you have chance to pick up another diffuser, would the lightsphere still be your only option?
You are lucky to find so many insects this time of year. Actually
we don't have most of these any other time of year either in San
Francisco. :(

Can you please tell me how you used a flash for those photos?

Some have related the set-up to a jack-hammer :-)

I like it becuase it shows there is plenty of room for ordinary flashlight to get onto subject if it had been night time. As opposed to using shorter lens and ring flash etc.
