Took my new LX5 for a walk near Bristol (UK) yesterday. I really like the camera so far - fun to use, and it has a great feel to it - I especially like the 24mm width, combined with the 16:9 orientation.

Fine shot, Dave.. good composition and natural colors - I have impression as spring has reached Bristol.. how is the jog wheel, getting used to it? ;) .. job well done, thanks for sharing :D ..

Cheers,

Hello Dave

That is a beautiful scene. Letter Box format at 24mm Wide is practically Panoramic - and it suits this grand view of Bristol. Nice!

Beautiful shot Dave. The field is very green and with the town in the far background. You had a nice day to take that picture with only a few clouds in the sky. The tree on the right really sets your picture off. Excellent picture.

Thanks, everyone. What a nice place this forum is - Panasonic should sponsor it! Seriously, it was an important factor in my choice of camera - it's a great place for inspiration, tips and polite debate.

Bruno - sadly no sign of spring here yet - we usually have some cold weather (even snow) just as we're thinking we've seen the end of winter. And yes, I'm already getting used to the jog wheel - not as much of a challenge as I feared.

Locke_fc - no, not upgrading from LX3. I have an FZ38, which I like a lot and will keep, but the size of the LX5 in a little carry-everywhere pouch is great. That and the fast lens and wide angle - I think I'll only be dusting off the FZ38 when I need the zoom.

Mike - iA for this pic, JPG. Seems to do a good job, although I'm looking forward to exploring the many settings, and RAW.

Dave.

Good image Dave. You'll enjoy the LX5, which is just small enough to slip in a jacket pocket. If you have a particular favourite/often used function not readily accessible on the menu then you can put it on the bottom button; I have AEB set on mine. Stuart
