lx5 case for lx7?

I know exactly that type of lengthwise fold-over case as I have one myself which was used for one of the earlier (either) Panasonic or maybe Oympus Pen cameras. I think the main consideration with that type of case really is how well the lens-bulge on the case does fit over the camera when in the case and you want to close the top over the camera. If that bulge is with not too much clearance over the top edge of the camera lens when inside.. that makes it a tight fit. There are VERY little differences in measurements between the two cameras (LX5/LX7)...just milimeters really.. but even a little diference CAN be difficult or impossible to acommodate. The HEIGHT of these two AND the WIDTH of them are different by 3mm in each case.. Height is likely not of importance (that is the SIDEways position when in this type of case.. DEPTH of the cameras CAN be a problem..this is the THICKNESS when in this type of case and it is then where that case 'bulge' is important. If it gives enough space under the bulge for the extra thickness of the LX7 (the lens base mount makes this) then it will either fit or it will not....

Frankly, I did a little seach on Ebay here and found this one - same style in a way... the camera "slides" into the case as with the other one .. but as there is no specific bulge it suggests that it is likely a much easier fit foir putting in/out the case .. its still leather (type).. sturdy looking.. and CHEAP too.. for what is a case designated for the LX7. I personally think I'd go for this moreso than the one of the type you show.. and one that fits..FOR the camera

Because of the slight (3mm) difference in width of the two cameras that MIGHT affect the exact positioning of the lens mount..if it is not exactly right to slot into that case bulge when closed over..it just would not comfortably close. Another point to bear in mind.

I just received my LX7 yesterday. I have a real leather "Everready" case for my LX5 that was made by Panasonic -- bought it from a Hong Kong shop for more $$ than it should have been. Good news is it fits the LX7. Just a little tighter but it fits the snaps close and I'll keep it when I sell the LX5.

hi everyone,

i have a case similiar to this one:

do you think it can fit to lx7?

sorry if it is discussed before...

thanks...
These don't look genuine.

The original leather case for the LX-7 is part #DMW-CLX5-K. http://panasonic.net/avc/lumix/compact/lx5/optional_accessories.html

But the case for the LX-7 is part #DMW-CLX7-K.

I have been using the LX5 case on my LX-3, but I doubt it will fit on the LX-7. (or else why would they need to change it?)

Anyone know?
