Lumix GX7 Replacement

Match your G7 with some OIS lenses and you'll be fine. That 16MP sensor can produce some great images, but don't bother shooting a snipe in flight at dawn in the wetlands 😂. I used a G6 for some years and missed the twin dials you'll have with the G7, but both cameras are very comfortable to hold and use. Stick the 42.5 on it and no one will ever know....ssh. I can highly recommend the 30mm and the 45-175 for your G7, they worked superbly on my G6.

It's a shame you could not try the GX8 - I must admit I would simply have bought a cheap generic battery and charger from somewhere to try it, and simply sold both on afterwards if it hadn't worked out. I've done that before twice for bodies in a local pawnshop - worked out just fine without much financial loss (one body did not work and the other one I eventually did not buy).

I think the store should get the battery and charger. If it works, they could put it on eBay or list it in their used inventory. Otherwise, it will just sit in their inventory for ever. They actually let me go through their box of M4/3 batteries and chargers to see if I could find a battery. On the plus side, I bought my 35-100mm f/2.8 there almost a year ago for a decent price and that is one big reason I stick with M4/3. My EM10.iv could not reliably focus the 35-100mm and that is one reason I sold it. Hopefully, the G7 will do a better job.

That's an idea. The pawnshop I mentioned previously has a GH5 on the shelf that's been there forever. The price has gone down from 1300€ to 800€, little by little, but it does not interest me much and obviously has never interested anyone else. It will obviously not turn on for anyone interested in trying it, so I expect it will still be there when the store closes its doors sometime in the future. Luckily for us photographers, there are enough mobile phones and game consoles around to keep the shop busy for a while yet!
