Lumix G9ii - Remote Shutter Problems

When using my wireless remote shutter, pressing the shutter button always starts recording a video rather than taking photos. I've tried it in all different modes on the mode dial, but it's always the same result.

I thought about "remapping" the record button to be used as another shutter button, but it seems that this isn't possible.

It may well be down to using an old remote shutter that perhaps isn't 100% compatible, but it's worked fine on all other cameras I've tried... I'm loathed to buy a new one if the same issue is just going to repeat!

Has anyone had any experience of this themselves? Or any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you

You are using an incompatible remote, the one you need will have three rings on the jack.

Panasonic use a different wiring configuration to the more usual type for Olympus, Canon and Pentax.

Ah thank you very much. Do you think simply a compatible cable would suffice?

Appreciate the help!
