... But I have doubts.
The image quality seems to be pretty nice overall, and a huge step up over the LX5 (which is a little worse than my phone...), but there's a few things that I'm not so sure about, so if you guys that have it could provide a little insight, it would be really nice :
- what is the situation for dust ingress in the lens? A relative of mine has an LX100 and it's a sh*itshow in that regard. We tried cleaning it with a vacuum cleaner but it wasn't able to remove most of it. The LX5, as far as I can see doesn't have this problem, but I wonder if the LX10 has it, because that would definitely be a deal breaker as I would use it as an everyday carry, it would see the end of pockets, backpacks, with most likely some dust involved.
- how bright is the screen? One thing I like about my LX5 is te ability to pop an EVF int he hotshoe if I can't see the screen. It's not a great EVF but it allows to shoot in bright sunlught and see if you're in focus or not.
- when it comes to controls, my LX5 has a nice little clickable dual function dial that allows to choose exposure comp or the setting you want to change in semi automatic modes, or switch between aperture and shutter speed in manual mode. I've seen in DPR's review that the controls were a little wonky, we can't click the back dial anymore and some parameters don't take in account the exposure mode. Has this been fixed in firmware or is it still a bit of a mess? (not a deal breaker at all, unlike the first two, camera seems to be perfectly fine shot in full manual + iso button)
- is the pop-up flash a fixed forward position or is it able to be bounced up? I tend to sometimes use an external flash that I bounce on ceilings, I'm not a huge fan of direct flash.
Thanks in advance if you have some information !
