The app is on (iSO) and connected to the camera. Geotagging when using the app selected. The app has permission to use location data. The blue tooth app and geotagging app in the viewfinder are lit. The location data is not in the EXIF.

So any advice. Phone iPhone 12 with latest F/W. Camera Q2M.

Here is an alternate solution for Geotagging photos.

I have been using Open GPS Tracker app on my iPhone and it works great. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/open-gpx-tracker/id984503772

It creates a .gpx file on phone. Once back at home, simply point Lightroom to GPX file and Lightroom will do the magic.

If you plan to use the app, make sure it has permission to run it in background and has full permission to use GPS.

I have used it on my old iPhone5s which is not in use anymore. I simply start the app when I step out and stop the app once I reach home. During the day trip, I just keep the phone in bag and forget about it.

If you use Andriod phone, you should have similar options.

Photos app, at least with my M10-R, drains battery like anything. It's a separate issue though.

Thanks.

It was just a bad setting on my part. Of course the documentation could have been better. Nobody seems to think they need to document their products today for some reason. On bluetooth the camera has to "wake up" the app to go get GPS. That's not an issue using WiFi and remote shooting. So in the app, on the three dots beside the camera, turn on geotagging>on, and check > always. That way when the phone goes to sleep the camera will wake it up and the app will grab the location. That seems to work pretty flawlessly.

Thank you for the info!
