Anyone else notice that LR will apply Luminance NR with the Z6 even if you have NR turned off in camera? It also seems to apply the NR at increments of 3 every-time you double ISO.

This does NOT happen with my D500 or any of my other cameras. Looking in Capture NX shows no NR that I can tell

This is how it looks in LR:
ISO100: 0
ISO200: 3
ISO400: 6
ISO800: 9
ISO1600: 12
ISO3200: 15
ISO6400: 18
ISO12800: 21
ISO25600: 24
ISO52200: 27

I'm also seeing all photos imported in LR have a -12 contrast (again, doesn't happen with my D500). Also, there is no contrast adjustment in Capture NX

I just got the camera tonight and only options I've changed are to shoot RAW and turn NR off. I don't think it's something I've changed but you never know.

Thoughts?

I'm not seeing any of this when importing to Lightroom. The only strange thing for me is the auto white balance and presets are waaay off and give my images a magenta cast.

Ah, so it's ISO dependent. Also the Luminance Detail is now up to 75 instead of 50 and Color is down to 10 unlike before where it was at 25. Thing is to my eyes it looks like Luminance doesn't soften the image as much as it used to. But Color still looks the same and needs to be cranked up often. They may have reworked their Noise Reduction.

Will probably do like D200_4me says and make a preset once I get a feel for how it's working now.

Wonder if the Z7 is the same?

Edit: Just looked and I have a Luminance default of 43 on a ISO 4500 photo and some other odd readings. Like 35 on a ISO 800 photo that needs about a stop push in brightness. It must be some kind of auto set off of each individual photo??

Do you have high ISO NR turned off in camera? What I found before i turned it off is that LR would apply more NR. The multiple of 3 I posted was when I turned it off (don't have values from before).

No. Left it on normal for if I ever shot jpg. Figured it didn't effect RAW.

Hmm. I'll turn it off and see what happens tonight.

Yup, I thought the same thing and was surprised!

The Lens Correction Profile doesn't see either the 200mm F2 VR2 or the Sigma 85mm Art. Shows Built-in when in auto. But if I pick the make, Nikon or Sigma, it auto picks the correct lens and changes from auto to custom.

Wonder if that has to do with the FTZ?

Very interesting, I think something changed with the most recent Adobe updates

Even with built-in profiles of Z cameras, you can now select 'Enable Profile Correction'. Even the Z native lenses are recognized (but wrongly as closest non-Z lenses) and additionally corrected. However, unlike with other Nikon cameras, when selecting 'Enable Profile Corrections' the camera is not recognized automatically.

White balance calibration is way off... as a result, you cannot use the presets or expect very pinkish result.

See another thread here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1574671

I filled a request in Adobe forums : https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2573531

I hope they can correct this. I was considering going back to LR with the Z6 after using other RAW converters but as always, there is a little annoyance that prevents me to do it...
