Folks

I keep a locked down Mac as a dedicated legacy photo computer.

I have Lightroom 6.14 installed - which is the final release of the standalone version.

Recently when I attempted to open Lightroom it advised that I needed to reinstall.

I reinstalled - entered the serial number, logged into my Adobe account as requested and was advised I needed to connect to the internet - see screenshot below.

The machine is connected to the internet!

Details:

MacPro 5,1 running MacOS 10.13.6 - High Sierra

I neither wish nor need to upgrade to a subscription version

I merely want to run the installed version I had running perfectly fine previously.

I have a load of much newer Macs right up to M3 and running Sequoia.

The machine with the problem does not need to be 'updated' I merely want it to remain what it was setup for - a legacy photo machine.

Any advice appreciated :-)

What happens when you click on the Validate button?

Many thanks for your reply

Clicking on the 'Validate' button merely 'flashes' the screen and re-presents the same window.

Clicking the 'Connect Later' button dismisses the entire window and exits the process.

So it is a dead end.

I have repeated the process a few times with no success.

Again - thanks for your input

Brian

I ran into this within the last few years. :(

It seems Adobe in their wisdom have shut down the license servers for that product. :(

A call to their support eventually got me to a senior support person whom I eventually had to give access to my Mac so they could install/uninstall files a few times.

While they really really wanted to steer me to their rentalware, 6.14 does everything I need and I have yet to run into any 'bugs'. (granted if I actually DID, I don't really care at this point, I'd just figure out work-a-rounds for whatever it is anyway!)

(not to mention I have licenses for (and use!) BOTH Mac and WIN versions of it as well own license for 5.0 (both WIN/MAC) that I *could use* with my 5D2. (the only reason I bought 6.14 was for the 5D4 support)

So encompassing >30min but less than 60min. they were able to get 6.14 running on my Mac.

So in a nutshell, you need to call/chat with Adobe support and get them to MANUALLY 'enable' your license.
