light microscope is that for everyone and if so how do you do it?

No idea how it is done and how complex it is. Never seen it mentioned except jsut recently.

since camera sensors are made up of millions of tiny lenses and sensors...

and each pixel is very tiny...maybe around 5.1 microns...

why not just drop the specimin on the sensor, directly?

how do you get it in focus ?
Illuminate it with parallel rays of light. You can achieve this simply by mounting a lens in reverse, with a single LED at its focal point.

A good idea, actually. That would give 1:1 magnification for thin, semi-transparent specimens. In a slightly different configuration it's called a nearfield microscope, and it gives tremendous resolution. Not very practical, and probably very expensive in a commercial, high-resolution version.
