Think about it from Canon and vendors' point of view too, though. What's defective, what's not? " Jeez I think its defective." "Well how can you accept some returns and not mine " It would be a huge mess! Don't want to repeat myself, but it is standard policy for the vendors I deal with that you cannot return an item once the card is filled in.I guess the idea is that once you fill out the warranty card, youI don't get it, to get the rebate you must fill out the warranty
card and then when the lens is defective Canon won't allow an
authorized dealer to replace the defective lens?
Does this make any sense?
absolve the vendor from any responsibility and you now have to deal
with Canon directly.
