LCD monitor a problem on 350D?

anybody bothering only 1.8" big lcd. if you look all the new cameras ...they have 2.0" or is it still big enought that you can preview picture etc..

The LCD is pretty bad. I don't know why Canon decided to dim out the menus until you press one, but if its because the battery life then I would gladly sacrifice a little for more legibility outdoors. The original Rebel and the 20D have better LCDs. Perhaps a firmware update could fix it.

I think the firmware fix will get rid of the need to press "set" to lock the value.

The only setting I ever need when shooting that is in a menu is FEC, but I seldom even need that. If you press the ISO button (or WB or AF) the settings pop up on the LCD at full brightness, not dimmed. I just flick the dial to change the setting. But I don't like having to press the set button.

If you only see the reflection of your shirt, change the angle of the camera.... it is acting like a mirror, so don't let it mirror a light object....

If any of you have a laptop PC, take it out in the sun... they are very hard to see as well.
