K100D doesn't detect when aperture ring is set to A position

The pin is missing on your lens. In both "A" and "non-A" positions it should be visible. The only difference is that in "non-A" position is slightly recessed and in "A" position is slightly extended.

Since it is just a pin, you can improvise it with anything conductive with the right size, provided that (1) the tip is rounded not to scratch contacts on the camera body and (2) that it does not fall out. You may cut a tip of a used ball point pen cartridge for example or if you want to keep lens in "A" position all the time just push something conductive to the hole (aluminum foil for example).

Thanks for all the replies guys! After a few tries, I managed to get a piece of aluminum foil to work.

It works great now, but I doubt this fix will last long so I'll probably keep an eye out for some broken -A lenses to cannibalize. Thanks again!
