Please help this photo. It was taken in a hurry while crossing the street in downtown Chicago. I'm not exactly and expert with Photoshop and I know it has some potential. Please help. I was just wanted to see some variations you awesome people could come up with.

Do you know how to use levels? It's easy to learn.
Learn about using the Levels histogram.
The picture can be improved in 2 minutes.

Put your eyedropper on the clock face - should be white - it should have equal RGB values. Or close to equal.
The picture has a reddish cast.

Put the dropper on the white on the star; same thing. It looks white but it's not. You can make it white.

I looked at your version of this picture...and the first thing I said was wow. I want to know how to do this stuff!!!! the first guy's way and yours. plzzzz

I did what Ledi did first, I adjusted the levels. Then I used Select > Color Range, and grabbed the highlights, and put them on another level. I used AutoFx to do tonal sharpening, deepen blacks, and some warming. Then I dup'd the highlights level, erased the selection for the clock faces, then set one to darken and one to multiply.

I think you could do a lot with this photo, like more of a day2night look even. There is always potential!

And, Thanks!

Cherilyn

It's been awhile since I've come here to play. Gave this a bit of a grunge look with the blue channel on top of a Lucis layer.

My fancy equipment does a great job of recording reality. Fortunately, I can fix that with Photoshop.

Thanks for all the stunning variatons and great results! I would love to see what others could come up with too.

Happy photoshopping
