Is there an interest in images, besides...

Heck I must have missed you had a Nikkor 300 F/2.8. Must have seen it, but it didn't sink in. Great to know.

The hand is darn clever ;-) That really appeals. Love the Heron shot of course, but maybe defeating the line this thread was going in :-) ;-) Love it.

All the best Sam and good variety there.

what a great thread, keep it up troops, this could become a weekly thing.

Awesome talent.

I am too happy with the bird shots I capture not to post the odd, one it was really just as a wee joke amongst my non-bird shots :-) I considered doing something arty farty with it , but after spending an hour standing nearly to the top of my wellies in mud I thought no! :-)

Some of us come to DPR and start threads or post comments a lot more than once every 3 to 4 months ;-) ;-) So feel free to start more if YOU want to.

So in that case we get to see from those users what they like to take and for many of us it happens to be birds. I spent 40 years of taking just macro, nothing else, just macro. I wanted a new challenge and that was birds. I could fill up this forum with just macro shots and we do actually see a lot of macro shots as well in here.

Creative depends on what someone calls creative. I see a lot of landscape, architecture and bird shots I would call creative.

Anyway ...

bird photography? Don't get me wrong, I do love bird photography, have not done many, knowing well how difficult they are to shoot, However I have won a dpreview competition with bird photography.

I would love to see more MFT images of different kind, like creative photography or is this the wrong forum to show them?

Since I bought the panasonic G7, I've done more photography then ever with better results.

My lenses are not that pretty any more as well Sam.

Ha, I've lost two pairs of gumboots (wellies) over the years and one left one :-) All in deep muddy sand. Not fun walking back in smelly socks :-) Always get full of water as well when it comes over the top, squish, squish, squish. Not something I had a problem with taking macro shots. Ha. Life was much easier Sam.

Very nice Dorian. Dandelions seed make such a good subject for artistic renditions. I use them every spring in so many differnt ways.

Very nice closeup images, however it seems that you have missed a few things . . .

you will see that bird photography is actually NOT overrepresented in this forum

I remember some of these from another forum years ago -- Canon perhaps? Wonderful creative imagination you have, Danny!

best regards,

- Richard

I like them all, Teri. Inspirational!

Like Richard I like to see art in nature.

Your gallery is huge (and grand)! I spent some time visiting your Creative Photography Gallery . Other images brought back great memories of Montreal and environs and Suisse.

Some of those remind me of the effects of heavy fog and rain on "common" subjects, transforming them into objets d'art.

There are some recent fog examples here: https://brtthome.com/2016/05/28/20160527-foggy-morning-greets-hairys/

p1250904-1.jpg

and some rain examples here: https://brtthome.com/2016/06/06/20160605-wet-blossoms-and-goslings/

p1280969-1.jpg

I also got into photography later in life, when some friends gave me a GF1 for my 70th birthday. It has become a wonderful hobby, getting me out and about every day to see what I can see (and sometimes represent with my expanding fleet of wonderful MFT cameras and lenses).

Although it gives me great pleasure to be as "artistic" as possible, I get a lot of enjoyment from learning about my natural environment. So I spend a lot of time researching the subjects of my photos (instead of getting and learning Photoshop).

So thank you of reminding us of the artistic potential we all have to present our glimpses of nature and of our imagination. As I said earlier ---- inspiring.

Merci!

Teri,

Your pictures are a pleasure to view. Good eye for subjects and good technique. I'd certainly like to see more.

I post mostly wildflower and insect photos here and other places. It is not bird photography but it is just another sort of nature photography. Certainly not "creative" in the sense of the images people posed in this thread.

Thank you so mich for your kind words and visiting my website. I am flattered that you liked it. These two images are stunning, as mentioned before, dandelions in seeding stage are an amazing flower to pnotograph and turn into art. I use it more than any other flower.

Teri

Thank you for your kind words. Your picture is lovely. I am happy to see, that so many people enjoy nature and creative photography.

I hope, it will be kept up.
