Is ON1 Following C1?

I wondered if anyone has any information about ON1 2026 perpetual licence / subscription?

I checked the ON1 website and I am only offered the Photoraw Max version and the perpetual licence for Photoraw 2026 does not have the radio button checked for "Includes Future Upgrades"? Max

Could simply be an error on the web page or they are moving to a similar position to C1 where you purchase a "frozen" version of the software if you go for a perpetual licence? Anyone else seeing the same options?

Anyone with any insights?

You should be offered a choice of versions.

It means you don't get upgrades beyond whatever v2026 will receive over the next year.

The Photo RAW perpetual license is the same as in the past. You get (occasional) updates for up to a year, then updates stop. But the app will continue to work.

The subscription version is also the same as before: You get extra stuff that isn't available in the perpetual version, but you must renew your subscription to keep it working after a year.

Mostly, but I don't see any confusion.

As an aside, even if I see things in v2026 perpetual that tempt me to upgrade, I'm not going to 'pre-order' it now. I bought the v2025 upgrade last year at $49.99 during the BF promotion, and it included some extra downloadable stuff and full access to ON1 Plus training. The BF promo might not be as low as $49.99 this year, but I doubt that it will be more than the current $69.99 promo. And by then I'll have a better understanding as to how well the new features actually work.

Thanks, as long as they provide point updates to 2026 everything is normal.

A good strategy and one I will also follow 😀

Yep I saw how things panned out last year and had similar thoughts.
